ASSESSMENT
If you have concerns about your child's speech and language skills I provide an initial assessment to determine the need for services and treatment goals. Please don't hesitate to contact me by phone or e-mail to discuss your concern and whether an assessment is appropriate.
Assessments include a speech/language sample, observation, caregiver report, and standardized testing. Assessments include a detailed written evaluation describing speech and language strengths and weaknesses, recommended goals, and time and frequency of treatment. Parent or caregiver will complete an intake packet prior to the assessment to provide background information, speech and/or language concerns, and activities your child enjoys. Most young children enjoy assessments because they include play-based activities while I observe speech and language skills through these interactions.
TREATMENT
I provide individual treatment in the client's home based on goals developed following the assessment. When working with children, establishing rapport and ensuring that the child is enjoying therapy and is comfortable is always part of the initial goal of treatment. Often initial treatment continues to include diagnostic therapy to determine what supports and treatment approaches are most beneficial to the individual.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PARENT EDUCATION
I provide inservices for school staff and parents who would like to further their understanding of speech and language development and how to foster children's speech, language, and social skills.
FINANCIAL
I do not accept insurance at this time but can provide you with a superbill that lists diagnostic and procedural codes should you wish to seek reimbursement through your insurance company.
